The Sloane was opened in the Historic Germantown neighborhood of Nashville in 2024 by its Principals, Kristin and Robert King. They are Nashville natives who married in 2010 and are parents to five children and two golden retrievers.
Kristin has specialized in full-service event planning for clients in the Nashville area for over 20 years, starting in 2004 as an event assistant to local wedding planner Elizabeth James. She is fortunate to have mentored under one of Nashville’s most exceptional wedding and event planners. Kristin also planned large-scale seasonal events at The Greenhouse Bar from 2004 to 2009 that would host up to 2,000 patrons per party. From 2009 to 2012, she served as an event manager here in Nashville with Classic Party Rentals. Classic was a national event rental company where she learned about creating and executing all types of events, from extensive tenting and flooring production to event rentals. From 2012 to 2014, Kristin was a sales and event manager for Nashville Audio-Visual, specializing in lighting, draping, and sound installation. In addition to the work above, Kristin has been hired over the past decade as a planner for private events and weddings.
Kristin decided to take her knowledge of multiple aspects of the event industry and wealth of contacts, including long-standing relationships with local planners and vendors, and launch a business that she is passionate about. With The Sloane, she has created a space unique to Nashville and a special place to celebrate life's most important moments.
